May 10 FUNDRAISER!

On May 10th we will be holding a photobooth, fruit cups, and otter pops event on Library Walk! Please tell all your friends and come by and support us as we raise funds for our final celebratory event of the year as well as next year!

DESSERT WITH THERAPISTS

Saturday, May 8th @ 1PM
Cafe Hue

- Get to know some local physical and occupational therapists in San Diego,
- get your questions answered about PT/OT in an informal, non-intimidating way,
- hear about therapists’ experiences in the PT/OT field and what makes these fields so rewarding,
- get advice about grad school, whether you should get your DPT or MPT, or whether you should take a year off,
- all this + MORE at our event!

Rides provided–12:30PM at Peterson

Besides enjoying DELICIOUS dessert, you will have a unique opportunity to build a network with local physical and occupational therapists. Bring ALL your questions!

Happy Beginning of Spring Quarter!!

Welcome back to school; we hope you had a great and relaxing spring break!
Here are some exciting upcoming events to look forward to:

Saturday, 4/10: Canine Walk

- Where: Balboa Park (rides will be provided)
- When: Rides provided at Peterson Hall, 8:30AM
- What: Volunteering for a walk that supports Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that provides canine assistance for people with disabilities!

Thursday, 4/15: General Body Meeting

- Where: Multipurpose Room, Student Services Center
- When: 7PM
- What: Come to an interactive and exciting night to learn about hand anatomy from an exuberant, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable occupational therapist! Enjoy free refreshments, meet new people, and hear from a grad student at the OT program at Boston University!

We invite you to come by on THURSDAY, MARCH 4 @ 7pm in the Roosevelt Room (Located in the 2nd floor of Price Center, by Shogun & SPACES) for our last general body meeting (GBM) this quarter!

If you are interested in the fields of physical therapy or occupational therapy, join us and meet other students striving for the same profession as you are! There will be a presentation from a physical therapist specializing in women’s health and pelvic floor therapy. We will also have a LIVE skype-in with a graduate student and we encourage you to bring any questions you may have concerning graduate school. Refreshments will be provided!

GET YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED! If you have any specific questions for our speakers, email them to ucsdptot@gmail.com and we will make sure that they will be addressed.

BJ’s Fundraiser: Monday, March 1

BJ’s in La Jolla Village Square is helping to support our club by agreeing to donate a percentage of their proceeds on Monday, March 1st to the Pre-PT/OT Society. Please print out a flyer, grab all of your friends, and support us! By having fun and eating, you will be allowing us to put on more events, thank our wonderful speakers more generously, and ultimately benefit this club so much. Thank you! We appreciate you!

From campus:
By shuttle: Take the Nobel Shuttle at Mandeville, get off at the second stop and walk into the plaza with Whole Foods, Bank of America, etc. BJ’s will be in there.

By bus: Take the 30 or 201 bus heading the Revelle –> Gilman Parking Structure direction. Get off when you see the Ralph’s/Whole Foods area.

By car: Drive down Villa La Jolla Drive and turn left at Nobel; make another left turn into the Whole Foods parking lot.
